Pick up your blue pinwheels here for April

Pinwheels commemorating Child Abuse Prevention Month.

Free pinwheels are available for everyone in the community

April is Child Abuse Prevention Month and Boone County Mentoring Partnership has blue pinwheels available for free. Simply come by our office to pick some up. Businesses or organizations that need many pinwheels should contact us in advance to ensure inventory.

Why blue pinwheels?

Blue is the international standard for child abuse prevention initiatives. Many communities around the United States place blue pinwheels in public places as a reminder and a memorial to the children who suffered abuse in their community that year.

How is BCMP helping families impacted by abuse?

We work closely with our friends and partners at Sylvia’s Child Advocacy Center. The CAC conducts forensic interviews of children after informed reports of crimes against children. The CAC is often the first place kids go after abuse.

BCMP helps families who may need additional support or adult role models later, regardless of their circumstances or situation.
